IMPACT PER RUPEE FORMULA

A transformative framework for measuring real social impact

PHILOSOPHY

Precision multiplies compassion.

When empathy meets rigorous frameworks, generosity becomes exponential.

THE FORMULA

Impact per ₹1 = ( × × ) /

= Number of beneficiaries

= Present value of benefit per beneficiary (₹)

= Marginal utility factor

= Total cost in rupees

This formula calculates how much social welfare each rupee creates. It considers not just the raw benefit, but also how much that benefit matters to the recipient based on their current standard of living.

REAL-WORLD EXAMPLE

Project: Educate 100 children in rural Bihar

Costs:

₹5,000 per child × 100 children = ₹500,000

Benefits:

₹1.8L lifetime increase × 100 children = ₹180,00,000

Marginal Utility:

Local median income: ₹75,000

Beneficiary families: ₹35,000

MU = log(75,000) - log(35,000) = 0.76

Final Calculation:

(₹180,00,000 x 0.76) / ₹500,000 = 27.4x per rupee

Every ₹1 invested creates ₹27.4 worth of dignity-adjusted social value

THE URGENCY EQUATION

Opportunity_cost = Impact_today - Impact_tomorrow

As regions develop and costs rise, today's rupee will do less tomorrow.

A ₹10,000 intervention today may cost ₹50,000 five years from now.

Maximize now. Multiplier effects diminish with delay.

THE ETHOS IMPACT FORMULA SYSTEM

This formula is part of a broader framework called the Ethos Impact Formula, which works at both macro and micro levels.

MACRO-LEVEL (ORGANIZATIONS)

• Corporate strategy using economic & game theory to drive scalable impact

• Predicts & incentivizes organizations to exceed sustainability targets by 150-300%

• Measures, refines, and gamifies organizational impact ecosystems

MICRO-LEVEL (INDIVIDUALS)

• Individual clarity on how small choices create massive compounded returns

• Shows how every rupee delivers 40x, 123x, or 400x life-changing impact

• Empowers individual donors and CSR teams to direct funds where they matter most

HOLISTIC IMPACT ECOSYSTEM

• The Ethos methodology gives organizations systematic, game-theoretic frameworks

• The formula empowers those creating change with intuitive, actionable insights on initiatives

• Both create exponential generosity through precision and transparency

WHY THIS MATTERS

FOR ORGANIZATIONS

• Demonstrate measurable CSR impact to stakeholders

• Make data-driven decisions about resource allocation

• Exceed sustainability targets through precision

• Build competitive advantages through impact excellence

• Establish trust through transparent, third-party validated impact measurement

FOR INDIVIDUAL DONORS

• Transform giving from emotion to evidence

• Understand exactly how each rupee creates impact

• Compare interventions using consistent metrics

• Maximize social return on charitable investment

• Trust in standardized, third-party framework for impact verification

TRUST THROUGH TRANSPARENCY

Third-party validation: The Ethos Formula provides an independent framework for measuring impact

Standardized methodology: Consistent measurement across all interventions eliminates bias

Open-source approach: Formula variables and calculations are fully transparent

Verifiable results: Stakeholders can independently verify impact claims

Credible benchmarking: Compare impact across organizations using the same rigorous standards

THE POWER OF MEASURABLE CHANGE

When we combine deep empathy with mathematical precision, we don't lose the human element - we amplify it. Every calculation represents real people gaining dignity, opportunity, and hope. The formula ensures our compassion reaches those who need it most, in the most effective way possible.

GETTING STARTED

Step 1: Define Local Context

Research the median income for your target region/state

Step 2: Identify Beneficiaries

Assess income levels of your target population

Step 3: Calculate Impact

Use the formula to evaluate different intervention options

Step 4: Monitor & Refine

Track outcomes and adjust parameters based on results

LET'S CALCULATE REAL IMPACT

This framework transforms good intentions into real social change that actually makes a difference.

Every rupee becomes a precise instrument of compassion, every intervention becomes a data-driven step toward accountable social responsibility.
